Abstract

This project aims to develop a mathematical formulation for the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) that minimizes fuel consumption and thus emissions of greenhouse gases. For its resolution, a metaheuristic based on the probabilistic behavior of ants - knows as Ant Colony System, ACS - will be employed. This method will be implemented in a numerical environment and tested against the instances of M. M. Solomon. Later it will be applied to the case study of two waste collection cooperatives in the city of Sorocaba - SP, the REVIVER and CORESO. (AU)
