Abstract

The research on biomaterials is in constant evolution including medical and dental interest. In the dental clinic, the biomaterials are especially used in bone defec. Research with a bone substitute requires a detailed study and depends on multiple factors, including biocompatibility that is a desirable characteristic in the development and application of these materials. The purpose of this study is evaluates in vitro the biocompatibility of porous resorbable membranes of polylactic acid PLA and polycaprolactone PCL in contact with osteoblast (MG -63). For this, it will be researched the biological behavior of the membranes as a bone substitute associated with ceramic fibers of calcium silicate. They will be used four study groups, starting from the concentration of the calcium silicate content: G1 - PLA + calcium silicate 1%; G2 - PLA calcium silicate + 10%; G3 - PCL + calcium silicate 1%; G4 - PCL calcium silicate + 10. The samples will be analyzed by the cytotoxicity test with Alamar Blue® colorimetric assay (Thermo Scientific) and, genotoxicity test, using the micronuclei test. For the statistical analyses, ANOVA and Tukey's test will be used (significance level 5%).
