Abstract

Nowadays, it's very important having criteria about the use of animals in research and teaching activities and, consequently, looking for alternative methods to this appliance, without causing any academic or scientific losses. The aim of this study is to check the biomechanical pattern and if there are differences on skin resistance and elasticity in the thoracic limb in two directions regarding tension lines described in literature. This is really important for dieresis and synthesis, because surgeries always start with cutaneous incisions and it is fundamental knowing the resistance and elasticity of the skin to avoid suture dehiscence.
