Abstract

Somaesthetic is a philosophical discipline developed by Richard Shusterman, through which he intends to put the body and somatic awareness under the eyes of philosophy. This discipline may be an interesting way of understanding the singing field and somatic practices used to bring the whole body to the singing practice. Although it is not common to see voice teachers concerned about the soma, some do think about it, and Somaesthetic may be a way to validate it. In my research, Somaesthetics may be a good filter through which I look upon my findings, so to get deeper in it, I plan on staying close to its creator and developer, Richard Shusterman, to a research internship of theoretical nature.
