Abstract

The student will participate in the research program that deals with the construction of agents models to describe collective phenomena and shared beliefs. The theoretical bases are Statistical Mechanics, Information Theory and Machine Learning. The methods include analytical and computational techniques. The applications will comprehend consensus building in the context of moral beliefs and in the dynamics of beliefs. The student should compare theoretical predictions with large databases on moral opinions, ethnographic data and legislative systems voting patterns.
