Abstract

The proposed undergraduate research project aims the study of nonlinear dynamic behavior of passive hydraulic engine mounts. This analysis will be performed by mathematical modeling of the system components, using lumped parameters elements of masses, springs, dampers and fluidic capacitances, inertias and resistances. The equations describing the system behavior will be obtained by Newton's second law, continuity and momentum fluid equations. These equations will be implemented with the aid of Matlab software, allowing the analysis of system behavior in time and frequency domains. The results will be compared with those presented in the literature, showing their characteristics and limitations. It is expected that this study will enable understanding of the nonlinear dynamic behavior of some types of hydraulic engine mounts and the influence of constructive parameters on the overall behavior of the system.
