Abstract

This undergraduate project aims to implement the Current Sensitivity Model (CSM) for a single machine-infinite bus system containing one transmission line (SMIB) with and without the SVC FACTS controller using the SIMULINK/MATLAB toolbox. The objective of this implementation is to study the SMIB stability when occurring small deviations by simulations. The CSM is an alternative to the classical Heffron & Phillips and to the Power Sensitivity Model. The study and computational implementation of the CSM with and without the SVC device were realized during the FAPESP Process n. 2015/13714-7. The equations developed in the previous project, using the SIMULINK/MATLAB will be used. Implementing in this environment allows viewing the power system in a didactic way and can be used to teach classes for graduate and under graduate courses when dealing with small perturbations in power systems. The stability analysis under small signals will be realized by simulations in time domain, from curves generated by the developed applicative (SIMUKLINK/MATLAB). Discussing the results will contribute to better understand the small signal stability of the SMIB. This project will be concluded in six months. (AU)
