Abstract

In this project, the student will be introduced to the Hamiltonian formalism of General Relativity through a cosmological model. In order to achieve this goal, the student will study the Arnowitt-Deser-Misner decomposition of space-time and the Hamiltonian formalism of a perfect fluid coupled to gravity. In this way, the student will find and solve Friedmann equations from a different perspective than Eisntein equation. The applicant will also find himself one step away from quantum cosmology. (AU)
