Abstract

The objective of this project is to analyze the organizational transformation of Social Christian Party - PSC, especially to internal changes promoted by the elites of the party and its possible consequences and conflicts, since this party focuses Catholic and evangelical, often with conflicting interests. Thus, the main question that guides this research is that: how does the distribution of political power among ecclesiastic parties, like the PSC, happen? Our hypothesis is that with the growth of the evangelical segment, the PSC gradually approached the Pentecostal and neo-Pentecostal churches. In this direction, the links and resources from this Christian segment have become more important to organizational survival of the party. For this purpose, given the specificity of our theme, the theoretical approach that we used is guided by the institutionalism of rational choice and historical institutionalism. (AU)
