Abstract

In this research, I will improve on recent analysis of Euclidean diagrams according to which they are legitimate and reliable sources of justification. I intend to show which types of inferences can be grounded on diagrammatical information and that Euclidean proofs should not be seen as less rigorous because they make use of it. Finally, I will investigate the consequences these points bring about for a conception of proof that is more complete and far-reaching than that of a purely formal proof.
