Abstract

In this project we will study the dynamics of the neurotransmitter receptors upon synaptic plasticity changes. There is a great interest in the study of synaptic plasticity because it is the cellular basis of memory formation. In addition, some neurological disorders are associated with synapse problems like schizophrenia and autism. Techniques that will be used are PALM [Photoactivated Localization Microscopy] and STORM [Stochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy], both in live and fixed samples. (AU)
