Abstract

Human hearing is a very complex function as part of a very specialized sense for communication. This may be affected by deficiencies, including sensorineural hearing loss, which is an indicator of problems in the inner ear or even in the peripheral auditory system. This study aims to characterize the unilateral and asymmetric hearing loss, through the analysis of clinical records relating to patients treated at CPA - Center for Audiological Research - HRAC / USP-Centrinho during the period October 2012 to October 2016 in a cross-sectional retrospective analysis. Previously the possible etiologic factors for this pathology and assess the possible consequences progressive individuals will be described. The data collected will be listed and analysis will be conducted according to the normality and homogeneity of data. (AU)
