Abstract

Starting from the concept of "deteatrização" , a term coined by Pessoa, the research aims to clarify its bond with the "static drama" that the author conceived. We state that these pieces take part in the "crisis drama" formulated by Peter Szondi. This favors its comparative study with those analyzed by the German critic, which also question the traditional mechanisms of dramatic creation. Such an approach allows to integrate the Pessoan theater beyond the Symbolist imagery, contextualizing it in the wider modern European dramaturgy tradition.
