Abstract

This research deals with the impacts of LED artificial lighting on human health. Its main objective is to investigate how LED lighting acts on the daily human rhythms of body temperature and activity and rest, studying for this the changes that occur in the office work environment. Based on the empirical method will be carried out two steps of measurements in the office for the collection of characteristics related to LED lighting and characteristics related to aspects of the daily rhythms chosen for this study. Measurements will take place simultaneously in two groups: one subject only to artificial lighting (LED) and another group that works in a room with artificial lighting (LED) and natural. The process of field measurements in both groups will consist of two continuous steps, each with a three-week duration forecast. The interpretation of the results will be carried out by comparing the data obtained by measurement, relating the characteristics related to local lighting to the effects resulting from changes in biological rhythms. From the comparisons between the collected data, it is expected to show relationships between characteristics related to LED lighting and changes in the daily rhythms of body temperature and activity and rest.
