Abstract

The pollen morphology study of 12 native species of Machaerium Pers. (Fabaceae) in forest fragments in northwestern São Paulo State will be conducted in order to characterize the morphology of the species and contribute with taxonomy data for the group, expanding the knowledge about the pollen diversity of the genus and providing subsidies for biodiversity in these fragments. The pollen grains will be acetolyzed, measured, described and photomicrographed under light microscope to obtain quantitative and qualitative data, and when necessary, under scanning electron microscope. Qualitative data will be used to describe pollen types and quantitative data will receive statistical analysis according to the samples. (AU)
