Abstract In this project we will study what are the problems related with a relativistic formulation of quantum mechanics and we will take them as a motivation for the study of Quantum Field Theory. Starting with the basic knowledge of classical field theory, we will explore how relativistic lagrangians are written (taking electromagnetism as a case of study) and we will then move to the canonical quantization of a field theory. As a final example, we will study in detail the QED case. (AU) | |
