Abstract

Digital communication has expanded the availability of news, while it is increasingly common to read just the titles, which are one detached aspect of the subject approached. In this context, the growing influence of news applications is decisive for building meaning effects, peculiar at times, about the reported facts. This research aims to investigate these effects on news reported by two news apps, one national (the UOL portal) and another international (Le Monde), with the support of the theoretical and methodological framework of French Discourse Analysis (AD), giving priority to the notion of detachment (MAINGUENEAU, 2010, 2014). Focusing on news about Brazil, the study seeks to map out an ethos about the identity of Brazil and Brazilians, based on representations in the national and international media, taking into account the relationship between interdiscursivity and journalistic ethics in the context of current technologies.
