Abstract

This project has the objective of analyzing the first season of the TV series Homeland through the light of how the War on Terror is portrayed, relating it to the limits of surveillance and government actions, many of them contrary to Human Rights, in and outside the American territory, legitimated in name of a 'Nacional Security'. The construction of an image of the Muslim world and the terrorist organizations and its members (motivations, objectives and how to achieve them) will be another important question to be examined. The chronological frame of this research is circunscript to the year of 2011, when the first season debuted in the United States. (AU)
