Abstract

The project aims at assessing the effects of the ionophore narasin inclusion through protein and mineral supplement on the performance of grazing beef cattle steers, over five periods of 28 days. 150 steers will be used in a complete block design. Each experimental unit will be composed of 5 animals. The treatments will be: T1 - Mineral control (absence of narasin), T2 - Mineral + narasin (13ppm), T3 - Mineral + narasin (20ppm), T4 - Protein control (absence of narasin), T5 - Protein + narasin (13ppm). The intake of each supplement will be assessed, as well as animal performance (average daily gain). (AU)
