Abstract

Transgender people, besides the amount of laws that are being created, still face innumerous obstacles to get access to the health system and professionals that don´t have enough ability to receive the needs of this specific population. This research intends to get to know the vision and the experiences of transgender people about the services offered by Unified Health System (SUS), to produce knowledge that supports interventions that can make their accesses to the system easier. This is an oral history research, essentially qualitative, that makes studies about social experiences of groups or people possible, valuing excluded populations. The discriminated minorities' voices, due to oral history, are being heard and their experiences validated. It´s urgent that health professionals and managers get awarded about this population in order to identify their most compelling needs and to fulfill their expectations. (AU)
