Abstract

Recently, several common bean cultivars of "carioca" grain type, with an early cycle and a determined growth habit, were introduced in the market; however, studies related to the nitrogen (N) requirement in these cultivars are non-existent in the literature. In this context, the objective of this work will be to study the N uptake during the cycle, the grain yield and the N removal by common bean cultivar with early cycle and determined growth habit. The randomized block design in the split-plot scheme will be adopted, with four replications. The plots will be composed of bean cultivars [Pérola (normal cycle and undetermined habit) and IAC Imperador, IPR Andorinha and IPR Curió (early cycle and determined habit)] and the subplots by sampling times performed biweekly during the crop cycle. Leaf area, leaf area index, accumulation and partition of dry matter (DM) and N in aboveground part, accumulation rate of DM and N in aboveground part, leaf diagnosis, yield components, grain yield and concentration and removal of N in grains will be evaluated. The data obtained will be subjected to analysis of variance and the means of the cultivars will be compared by the Tukey test at 5% probability. The results of the sampling times will be evaluated by regression analysis. (AU)
