Abstract Shape and color of a package are factors of impact in the purchase decision, however it is not yet known in a concrete way how the perception of shape and color influence the process of use. Therefore, the aim of this study is to carry out an evaluation with simulated activities of use with different bottles of mineral water with screw caps, involving Portuguese adult individuals of different genders and age groups, seeking to verify if the perception of the shape and the color of those packages influence the perceptual aspects of usability, as well as the transmission of manual prehension force in the opening of the same. The study will be developed in four stages: visual interaction; tactile interaction; interaction of use (usability and biomechanical tests); and color test. The methodological procedures will involve the experimentation of use with the individuals, which should categorize the packages. The collection and statistical treatment of data should provide the results to verify the hypothesis that both shape and color influence the perception of usability. After this research and with the return of the proponent to Brazil, it will be possible to compare the results obtained in Portugal and Brazil, observing the influence of the cultures. | |
