Abstract

From the Daily Life and Environmental Psychology Studies, which have provided significant contents to Social Psychology for analysis of contemporary social phenomena, we highlight as the object of this study virtual environments, more precisely, social networks and their influence in our ordinary life. We have observed daily that technology is increasingly present in our daily lives, and with it, access to social networks: in Brazil alone, almost half the population uses them monthly. There are, therefore, some questions to be thought about and studied about how these virtual environments can transform human sociability. Therefore, we will seek in this research to make a survey and a bibliographical review of the scientific production, in the form of a scientific article, of the last two years, referring to the relation of two themes: social networks and human sociability. We will raise the arguments of authors who refer to social networks as something harmful to human sociability, those who claim the opposite and those who relativize these consequences. We will then construct a synthesis on the production found, in order to systematize how science has understood this phenomenon. (AU)
