Abstract

Through the senses, human and non-human animals are able to recognizevarious environmental stimuli that allows them to estimate the passage of time.Despite the existence of different neural models for time perception, there is stillno consensus on the topic. One of the proposed models is that time is an intrinsicfunction of the neural network and therefore is distributed and could be extractedfrom the network state. Despite increasing computational and in vitro evidence infavor of this model, there is no consolidated methodology for this type of researchin humans. In a previous project, we obtained promising results with an analysisof the topography of the EEG, which opened other questions. In this project, weaim to answer some of these questions, such as the influence of the task on theneural representation of time. A Multivariate Pattern Analysis (MVPA) wil be usedestimate trajectories between states, which seems to reflect temporal properties. Moreover, we aim to investigate whether we can extract information about thepresented interval and predict the participant's response.
