Abstract

Mindfullness has been considered a meditation practice that helps reducing stress and improve quality of life, being used worldwide. A number of studies in countries such as Spain, Portugal and the United States of America, including children, adolescents and teachers, have been conducted. In Brazil, studies have also being carried out but do not include the school population. In Brazilian schools different treatment as to social status results in reduced scholastic achievement. Teaching has become a 'challenging' task, a term whose meaning falls short. The relationship between stress and quality of life in school environment has become a subject of study. Therefore, the aim of the present study project, which includes mixed methods, will be: To assess the efficacy of interventions using mindfulness activities focusing on students and their teachers and families, in school environment, in the attempt to promote well-being. It is expected that this study be a contribution to the sciences focusing emotional health and education regarding the improvement of quality of life and well-being in school environment. (AU)
