Abstract In this project, resonant magnetic x-ray diffraction experiments on single crystals of the RNiSi3 series (R: Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho) will be performed and analyzed, using the XDS beamline of LNLS, aiming at determining their magnetic structures and nature of their phase transitions. A recent study of this family through magnetic susceptibility, resistivity and specific heat measurements indicates interesting magnetic phenomena, including antiferromagnetic ground states with planar anisotropy and field-induced metamagnetic transitions. In this proposal, we intend to contribute to the global understanding of the relevant magnetic interactions of these compounds. (AU) | |
