Abstract

This research project proposes the study of the properties of orthogonal polynomials on the real line, focusing on the behavior of its zeros. In addition, we will study some classes of classical orthogonal polynomials (Jacobi, Legendre, Chebyshev, Gegenbauer, Laguerre and Hermite) and some of its applications in quadrature formulas. Thus, it is intended that the candidate has a solid base of knowledge in this area to extend their studies in a post-graduation. (AU)
