Abstract String Theory has developed as a great candidate for a unified theory of Nature, assuming that all particles are different harmonics of small vibrating strings. This idea leads to a possible union between Einstein's theory of gravitation and the laws of quantum mechanics. In this work, we will begin with an introductory study of String Theory, until we reach the relationship between D-branes and gauge groups of the standard model. (AU) | |
