Abstract

Recent advances in genomics and structural biology have resulted in a significant increase in the results available from databanks that has been accessible through the Internet. Such databases offer to the researchers the opportunity to access a wide variety of biologically relevant results from different research centers, including genomic sequences from a wide range of organisms, which significantly boosts the dissemination of information. The proposed project aims to create a database related to the genomics and proteomics studies carried out in the Urogynecology and Vaginal Surgery at Department of Gynecology from Universidade Federal de São Paulo (Unifesp) and other associated research centers, generating a manual for health professionals. Existing databases will be used in the Internet, Genomic Data Commons (GDC) data portal. Three programs will also be used for the analysis of data: MySQL (program for database management), cBIOPORTAL (Web-based software for evaluation of data contained in database) and WEKA (program for data mining). Statistical analyzes will be performed in the Graph Pad Prism program and in sequence more thoroughly evaluated by the program SPSS® version 17.0 (SPSS Inc.®; Illinois USA). The creation of a database for health professionals in the area of urogynecology will certainly facilitate access to scientific information and research in the various lines of research of such professionals.
