Abstract

Urban environmental problems are increasingly associated with the transformation of the natural landscape, causing problems for city dwellers. The effects caused by human actions are seen and felt with greater intensity in the urban environment, where there is a predominance of built-up areas and population density and few green areas. Thus, there are differences in the elements of the urban environment climate compared to the rural one (AMORIM, 2000). The formation of the urban climate is the consequence of several factors, among them are the use and occupation of the soil, construction materials, form and quantity of buildings in the urban space, presence of green areas, among others. The possible combinations of these factors generate the increase of the temperature and the decrease of the relative humidity of the air. Thus, the rural environment serves as a comparison for these studies, since it presents different characteristics of the urban environment. With this, the objective of this research project is to verify possible differences in temperature and relative humidity of the air according to the socioeconomic pattern between the neighborhoods Vila Santa Helena and the Residential Park Santa Monica in comparison to the rural environment in the city of Osvaldo Cruz - SP. To obtain the data regarding temperature and relative humidity of the air, automatic meteorological mini-notifications will be used. For the analysis of the results, the data obtained at each point will be compared, and tables and graphs will be elaborated in Excel® software. (AU)
