Abstract

In the literature the reference values for the Vertebral Heart Size (VHS)and Manubrium Heart Score (MHS) of adult Border Collie dogs can't be found, therefore the objective of this study is to suggest these reference values. For this purpose will be used twenty (20) dogs of the breed in the established age group considered normal to the echocardiogram, which will be subsequently radiographed and have the cardiac measurements made by using the subjective and objective method (VHS e MHS). The mean, standard deviation and standard error of mean will be calculated and afterwards the reference value of VHS and MHS to healthy adults of Border Collie breed will be suggested. (AU)
