Abstract

Opinion Mining area aims to assist the user/reader in the task of apprehending relevant and interesting content in a large set of information. With the interactivity and content production provided by Web 2.0, Opinion Summarization in particular has proved to be a relevant task. The summarization process synthesizes, in the form of a summary, user reviews of products, services, events and companies, among others, supporting the user in the decision process, for example, buying a specific smartphone model instead of other one. In this research plan, we propose the investigation of methods of contrastive opinion summarization, which, based on reviews of products written by web users, produce contrastive summaries of the evaluated aspects of products. This research, besides constituting a relatively new line in the area, is new for the Portuguese language. (AU)
