Abstract

This study proposes to analyze the repercussion of Estetica, a Brazilian literary magazine published by Prudente de Moraes, Neto, and Sergio Buarque de Holanda during the years 1924 and 1925. The magazine´s proposal was to spread the Brazilian modernist ideas to other readers. Although several studies have examined literary and aesthetics ideas published in its pages, this research aims to study the Estetica´s repercussion via a careful analysis of the quotations about the magazine in other texts such as letters (written by the publishers and some of the most frequent contributors, mainly Mario de Andrade) and articles (published in mainstream newspapers). This approach intends a historical reconstitution of the literary life and the literary net formed around Estetica. (AU)
