Abstract

This research project proposes the study of the properties of orthogonal polynomials in the real line, focusing on the behavior of its zeros. Furthermore, will be studied some classes of classical orthogonal polynomials (Jacobi, Legendre, Chebyshev, Gegenbauer, Laguerre and Hermite) and will be presented results on the electrostatic interpretation of zeros of Jacobi, Laguerre and Hermite polynomials. The development of this research project will provide a solid knowledge of the candidate in this area to extend their studies in the future, in a post-graduation. (AU)
