Abstract

This proposal aims to request for FAPESP a Research Internship Abroad (BEPE) in doctoral level, for Mr. Pedro de Oliveira Conceição Junior, doctorate student in the Electrical Engineering Graduation Program, at Faculdade de Engenharia de Bauru - FEB/UNESP, under supervision of Full Professor Paulo Roberto de Aguiar and under FAPESP grant #2016/02831-5. The activities to be carried out abroad are part of those foreseen in his Doctoral thesis under development in Brazil. The main justification of this proposal is based on the need for the student to carry out deeper knowledge on the monitoring of the dressing operation that will depend on the resources available in the Fraunhofer Joint Laboratory of Excellence on Advanced Production Technology - Fh_JLEAPT, in the Department Di Chimica, Materiali and Ingegneria della Produzione Industriale - DICMAPI, from Università Degli Studi di Napoli Federico II - in Naples Italy. The student will be under the supervision of Professor Doriana Marilena D'Addona, who has already established guidelines for methodological development that allow a deep identification of the aspects involved between the electromechanical impedance method (EMI) and the features of the dressing operation. This proposal also aims to promote improvements in precision and reliability of dresser damage diagnosis during the dressing operation. Furthermore, the monitoring system through the EMI method will be also improved by employing computational intelligent techniques, which will allow for the selection of frequency bands more sensitive to damage.
