Abstract

The goal of this project is to introduce the student on the non-linear optics area, inparticular, to parametric processes for photonic circuits aplications. First of all, is going to be done a theoretical study over Four-wave Mixing (FWM) and solitons propagation inwaveguides. Then, with this basis, the student is going to make a numerical study overCherenkov radiation in terms of Four-wave mixing. Finally, the student is going to make an experimental setup to observate the Cherenkov radiation in optical fibers. (AU)
