Abstract

Due to the necessity of defining the thermal properties of new construction materials, the goal of this research is to build a heat flow meter apparatus in order to perform thermal conductivity tests of building materials whose data is not available in specialized literature. Furthermore, the thermal conductivity of recycled gypsum plasterboards produced by FEC-UNICAMP will be defined, in order to compare its thermal performance to the commercial gypsum. The construction of the heat flow meter apparatus will be based on Standard ABNT NBR 15220 (2005). The methodology is based on heating the sample's upper surface and cooling its lower surface, under constant temperature. The set will start with a uniform temperature and it will progress until achieve a steady state, which consists in a uniform temperature gradient over the sample. The thermal conductivity will then be calculated. The construction of the equipment will also help to perform tests from other ongoing and future researches, linked to laboratories and research groups from FEC. (AU)
