Abstract

The purspose of this study is to compare cephalometrically the differences and dentoskeletal and tegumental changes occurred over 40 years in patients with normal occlusion. The sample will be composed of 20 Brazilian patients with normal occlusion, with complete permanent dentition, Angle Class I, without crowding and pleasant profile, selected from the files of the Orthodontic Department at Bauru Dental School/USP. Cephalometric radiographs taken at three different times will be evaluated: T1 (initials at age 13 years), T2 (at age 17 years) and T3 (at age 60 years). The cephalograms will be digitalized and cephalometric measurements will be taken and the comparison between the different time points. Cephalometric superposition will be performed to evaluate dentoskeletal and tegumental changes. Interphase changes will be evaluated using ANOVA and Tukey test.
