Evaluation of transcatheter implantation of the Braile Inovare prothesis via transfemoral

Abstract

Objectives: transcatheter valve replacement is a well established procedure in patients at high risk for conventional surgery. The overall results were very satisfactory and safe, allowing the inclusion of the treatment in multiple guidelines. In our country, a national prothesis (Braile Inovare) was developed with results as good as to the other prothesis in literature. Results of this transapical approach were recently published. Currently, no results of transfemoral use have been published. Thus, the objective of this project is the evaluation of the transfemoral transcatheter implant of the Braile Inovare prosthesis. Methods: 30 patients with transcatheter aortic valve implantation according to the transfemoral guidelines using the Braile Inovare prosthesis will undergo evaluation of their clinical state and echocardiographic follow-up according to VARC (Valve Academic Research Consortium) criteria with additional evaluation Of all-cause mortality, cardiovascular mortality, peripheral vascular complication, and combined outcomes. Expected results: it is expected that the transfemoral implant will have results as good as the transapical implant using the Braile Inovare prosthesis, contributing to reduce the morbimortality associated to transcatheter aortic valve treatment.
