Abstract

The purpose of this work is to perform the mineralogical, textural and chemical characterization of a 5.2 kg meteorite sample found in Peru, with a fall report in 1998. This characterization will be carried out using the techniques of petrographic microscopy in reflected and transmitted light, scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, among other techniques (eg, magnetic susceptibility measurements, etc.). The main objective of the work is, in the light of the specialized literature, to understand the systematic evaluation of a meteorite, in order to identify and classify the target sample of this study and to enable the identification of new samples.
