Abstract

Nowadays, it's very important having criteria about the use of animals in research and teaching activities and, consequently, looking for alternative methods to this appliance, without causing any academic or scientific losses. The objective of this study is to analyze, biomechanically, the chronic effect on the skin of dogs´ corpses prepared with ethylic alcohol and curing salt, aiming the veterinary surgery practice and the students' evaluation about the quality of dieresis and synthesis of the skin in 3 regions of surgical interest. This is really important for dieresis and synthesis, because surgeries always start with cutaneous incisions and end with cutaneous suture. (AU)
