Abstract

Ti-6Al-4V alloy is widely used in aeroespace industry due to its mechanical properties. Due to its importance in this area, this work will study the superficial treatments influence, PIII + shot peening and shot peening + PIII on Ti-6Al-4V alloy fatigue behavior. Thus, all the samples, including the ones received without any treatment, will be submitted to tensile tests and rotating bending fatigue test. In order to complement the study, Vickers microhardness measures will be carried out along the cross section of all the specimens, as well as the characterization by X-ray diffraction and the microstructural changes will be observed by optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
