Abstract

Cats´ intestines are always in focus of studies of surgical aspects, as evaluation of risk factors for leakage after anastomosis, or about ischemic injury and the role of superoxide radicals, or about resection and anastomosis in laparoscopy. The objective of this study is to analyze, biomechanically, the intestine of cats´ corpses prepared with ethylic alcohol and curing salt, aiming the veterinary surgery practice and the students' evaluation about the quality of dieresis and synthesis of the skin in 3 regions of surgical interest. We expect to develop an anatomical model of chemically prepared corpse as an alternative method for veterinary surgery teaching, with no academic loss. (AU)
