Abstract

Background: Circulatory System Diseases (CSD) are the leading causes of death in the world, except in low-income countries. In Brazil, the circulatory system diseases are also the main causes of death, corresponding to 27.6% in the year 2015. Nonetheless, this indicator varies when specific regions of the country are analyzed. There is a gap in studies on the decline in CSD mortality in adolescents and young adults living in developed and developing regions. In this way, it is difficult to know if the reduction in mortality due to CSD in young adults in Brazil occurs in a similar way when stratified by sex, age group, regions and subtypes of the disease. Objective: To evaluate the mortality due to Circulatory System Diseases in individuals aged 10-29 years living in the Northern Region and Southern Region of Brazil, in both sexes, age, race / color, schooling and subtype of the disease. Materials and methods: Ecological study of time series using microdata. It will considered all deaths from Circulatory System Diseases in individuals aged 10-29 years living in the Northern Region and in the Southern Region of Brazil, contained in the Mortality Information System (SIM), in the period from January 1st, 2000 to December 3, 2015. Diseases of the Circulatory System will be defined from the ICD, 10th revision (I00-I99). Variables of the deaths (sex, age, race / color, education, subtype of disease) will be extracted from the database of the Ministry of Health (Mortality Information System - SIM) available at the Department of Informatics of SUS (DATASUS) through generic public domain tab - TABNET. Then, mortality (x 100,000 inhabitants) will be calculated, stratified by sex, age group and subtype of the disease, crude and standardized by the Brazilian population (Census - 2010The results will be analyzed using STATA 13.0 and Prais-Winsten regression analysis will be used. Expected Results: It is expected to find a decreasing trend for mortality due to Circulatory System Diseases in adolescents and young adults living in the Southern Region; and a steady trend of mortality in adolescents and young adults living in the Northern Region.
