Abstract

As it has been stated on the current doctoral project, this study goal is to investigate Alexander Herzen's masterpiece My Past and Thoughts, an autobiographical text that includes a variety of subjects in a variety of prose styles. Thereby, this study aims to analyze the layers of Literature, History, life experience and revolutionary journalism that transpires in its pages and builds its narrative. Once this work was written in London and part of it was published as journalistic articles, the purpose of this internship abroad is to investigate Herzen's journalistic enterprise and the reception of his publications in England and Western Europe, as well as the legacy of his revolutionary thought widespread by his free russian press among his contemporaries.
