Abstract

Due to growing concern about contamination of soil, water and consequently of food, there is also growing concern about the dispersion of these pesticides and their possible dispersion in the air causing respiratory problems in the localities neighboring the planting areas. Therefore, the initial proposal of the project is to determine some pesticides present in the rural atmosphere under the influence of sugarcane and orange plantations, during the harvest period in the city of Piracicaba, and in an urban local atmosphere, in the city of São Paulo, to evaluate the transport. Samples collected in the urban-industrial atmosphere of Capuava will also be analyzed. Previous studies have shown that compounds emitted in the biomass burning in the interior of the State of São Paulo were transported to the Capital. The sampling site in the city of Piracicaba was selected due to the great representativeness of the area of sugarcane cultivation and other crops in the state of São Paulo. The interest of analyzing the samples of Capuava is to make an assessment of the atmosphere in an industrial zone that has an industry that produces agrochemicals. The pesticides chosen are: 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, glyphosate, atrazine, pyrethroids (cypermethrin, deltamethrin, lambda-cyhalothrin, permethrin and bifenthrin), trifluralin and abamectin. The pesticides used in the planting of sugarcane and orange were selected. (AU)
