Abstract

The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effect of water on elastic modulus and flexural strength of polymers with crescent hydrophilicity, evaluated at different intervals. Resins with different hydrophilic degrees (BisGMA/UDMA; BisGMA/TEGDMA; BisGMA/HEMA) with proportion 70/30mol% will be prepared. The initiator system used will be camphorquinone (0.5% wt) and ethyl dimetilamino benzoate (1% wt). After the preparation of monomeric solutions, the water sorption and solubility of the systems will be evaluated, using circular specimens (8mm diameter, 1mm thick). The elastic modulus and flexural strength will be obtained through the three-point bending test (25mm length, 2mm width, 2mm thick) after different storage times (0, 14, 30, 60, 90, 180 days). The obtained data will be statistically analyzed using the suitable test for each evaluation (±=0.05). (AU)
