Abstract

This project has as research object the Sustainable Development Project (PDS) Santa Helena, in the municipality of São Carlos, in the state of São Paulo. The objective is an in-depth analysis of this rural settlement, having as guiding elements for the research, to know its history, social and economic relations, logic and agricultural production, as well as institutional links and access to public policy programs. In order to fulfill the proposed objectives, we intend to apply the methodology of agrarian systems diagnostics and tools of participatory rapid diagnosis. This study is aimed at a reality that, even with inherent difficulties in the dynamics of rural production in settlements, has presented positive results in agroecological production, access to public policies and institutional arrangements that, together, have corroborated this result. Thus, this study can contribute both to the visibility of this reality and to the possible replication of practices or logic present there. (AU)
