Abstract

Despite the increase in the number of studies on spirituality and religiosity, most of them are concentrated in the US and in adult populations. The same is true of well-being studies in Brazil, which use participants predominantly in the adolescent age group. The proposal to investigate the relationship between spirituality, religiosity and well-being in adolescence starts from previous studies that point, in general, to positive associations between them. This research project seeks to give continuity to the doctoral research of the proposer, allowing to answer new questions and to deepen the phenomenon from the quantitative and qualitative methodologies and from the integration of both. Three studies are proposed. The first one aims to verify explanatory models of the relationship between religiosity and spirituality among adolescents considering differences between groups. This will be verified from Modeling of Structural Equations with instruments of spirituality, religiosity and well-being, answered by 1248 Brazilian adolescents. Study 2 aims to investigate the adolescents' own understanding of how the relationship between well-being and spirituality and religiosity occurs, based on the analysis of focus group speeches with 58 adolescents. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected for the preparation of the thesis, but were not analyzed at that time. Study three aims to integrate data from studies 1 and 2, using Spirituality, religiosity, well-being, adolescents.methodological triangulation.
