Abstract

In this project, we propose to investigate the use of lattices in cryptography; in particular characterizing lattice properties that are desirable for building evident and secure lattice-based cryptoschemes. As a result, this research must produce a survey synthesizing these properties and their connection with hard problems over lattices. Moreover, we aim to provide a software implementation of an LWE-based cryptosystem, which can be a public-key encryption scheme or a key-exchange protocol. The implementation performance evaluation must contain a security analysis considering some side-channel attacks, measurements of running time and memory consumption, and a comparison with state-of-the-art LWE-based implementations. The student proponent of this project will work together with a group of other undergraduate students in related projects, within FAPESP Thematic Project “Segurança e Contabilidade da Informação - Teoria e Pratica” (Process FAPESP nº 2013/25977-7).
